Scott recently returned from Europe where he participated in the International Oboe Music Conservatory (pictures coming soon). Both Scott and his brother Jason have a passion for music. Scott earned both a music and scholastic scholarship to Furman University where he began his study in music September 1998, graduating May 2002. Scott made his first Web Page in his Music & Technology Class, website located: www.oboeplayer.com. Scott also started an e-Commerce Web site located: www.easternx.com/reeds. Scott is a doctoral candidate at University of Miami, FL. He is an instructor of Music History at University of Louisiana, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Scott, born a synethesist himself, is currently researching synesthesia, particularly in the area of music and psychology. He has done extensive research in the area of music feminism in Europe. Jason is junior at the Citadel located Charleston, SC studying chemical engineering. He earned the Eagle Scout Award in 2002. See top of Web page for pictures of community project. Jason attended Governor's School for Arts & Music in Greenville, SC. Jason's music talent and abilities will assist him in whatever life endeavors he may choose. His music instrument of choice is the bassoon. Also, Jason is a computer whiz, like his Aunt Kathy (see below). He especially likes graphics and even prepared Power Point presentations while attending South Florence High School, Florence, SC. Jason enjoys music like his brother, Scott, who encourages his music talent. Jason is First Chair for his district. Jason also enjoys playing all sports. He plays in Citadel Band for football games. Sonya is a guidance counselor, former kindergarten teacher, at North Vista Elementary School in Florence, SC. She is a 1998 recipient of a $6,000.00 EIA competitive teacher grant. The title of the grant is "Tiger Cub Reading Club". This project is a take home reading program which allows over 100 kindergarten students the opportunity to check out and take home a book of their choice each day.
Meet Scott & Jason's grandparents, Nanny & Papa.
Nanny is a retired registered nurse at Honorage
Nursing Center 3 days per week and Papa is retired Col. Air Force and Civil
Service supervisor Social Security Administration, SSA and volunteered 5 days per week at age 87 years for Florence County Senior Citizens Council on Aging.
